I think we can all agree that Christmas will be different this year but I’m glad to say that one thing won’t change! Once again, the B&D Flower Arrangement Club will be decorating 2 trees in the porch at St Bartholomew’s Church. They will be on display from Friday, 11th December ready to welcome you into the church at the permitted times

Unfortunately, because of Covid 19, St Bartholomew’s Fund Raising Committee is not able to hold a Christmas Tree Festival this year.  The Committee usually raises in the region of £9,000 every year towards, what the Treasurer calls, the housekeeping for the Church, that is gas, electricity and general running expenses.  This fund raising is a separate item and should not be confused with the recently held Appeal to raise funds for the repair of the Church roof.

The two trees in the porch will be lit up continuously from the 11th December over the Christmas period, and if you would like to make a donation to Church funds, please send it to Chris Woodburn, PCC Treasurer at Oak House, Heathfield Road, Burwash, TN19 7HN or pay your contribution directly to St. Bartholomew’s Church PCC, Sort Code 60 10 30 Account Number 11584580 (marked Christmas Trees).   Cheques should be made payable to St. Bartholomew’s Church, again, marked Christmas Trees. There is also a donation tube inside the Church which you can use. Any queries, please ring Maureen Jenner on 01435 882 045.

We can then look forward to 2021 and the programme we have planned. Obviously, this will depend on future restrictions but we will adjust it when we need to.

Here is the updated plan for 2021:

Monday, 8th February afternoon. AGM.

Wednesday, 10th March, morning. Workshop led by Phyllis Stevens

Monday, 12th April, afternoon.  Robin White, subject TBA.

Monday, 14th June, afternoon.  Susan Shaw - Chasing Rainbows.

Thursday, 15th July, evening. Diamond Anniversary, Michael Bowyer - Summer Delight.

Monday, 13th September, afternoon. Helen Hare, subject TBA

Wednesday, 3rd November, morning. Workshop led by Angela Merryfield

1. 3Cs coffee morning, every Wednesday in St Bartholomew’s 9.45 until 11.45 until further notice

(coffee, cake, and chat)
Our group has been meeting in the church every Wednesday morning since
2nd September: how time flies! Our numbers have steadily grown and
we have a core group of just over 20 ladies and gentlemen.
I asked for comments to describe their enjoyment of the mornings and was told:
‘Everyone is very welcoming and friendly;’
‘We have delicious home-made cake;’
‘Come along and find out all about dentures and spectacles!’
‘Interesting anecdotes about life in Burwash over the last 60-70 years;’
‘It is so lovely to have this get-together every week’.

3c's morning

Beginning in March, we shall be changing the times of our 3Cs coffee mornings
to 9.45am until 11.45am.
Thank you to all our lovely ladies and gentlemen
who have made the 3Cs coffee mornings so much fun!
